After age 30 there is a 1% decline per year in a person's health. There is also a decline in a person's senses. Their skin changes due to amount of exposure to the sun. This causes wrinkles, dryness, and tougher skin. Both genders also experience bone loss, but it is more prevalent in post-menopausal women. Breathing capacity decreases, yet this can be altered with exercise. Fat also builds up around the heart causing a loss of elastic tissue. An increase in blood pressure is also common.
